Change of pace..

Wednesday night (6/6) , I was lucky enough to get out to Lake St. Clair for some Musky fishing. I'm in the process of having a custom fly rod made so I ended up out there doing some trolling instead of my usual fly fishing. Started fishing at 5:30 PM (work gets in the way!) and fished till about 9:30 PM. It was partly sunny when we first got out , but then quickly turned in dodging storms. Ended up going 6 for 6 on Musky and boated 4 very nice size small mouth. All the Musky were pretty small, for Lake St. Clair standards, coming in around 30-35". The bummer is, no pictures. I have a pretty nice camera but it does not see light when it is raining. Of course, my waterproof camera was sitting at home on my desk... I suppose I'll learn to take both one of these days!

This weekend I am north enjoying some relaxation in the north woods at the Deer Camp. Im about 15 min from the Au Sable river's trout waters (not bad, eh!). Yesterday, we had to do the usual maintenance around the property and today we were planning on some shooting, 4-wheeling, etc. As I type this though..its POURING rain. A bummer so far, but I must say this is one of my favorite places to be writing a blog post.

Till next time..Keep your lines tight and guns loaded.

Potential.

  2. Just trolling some big baits my friend! Lake St. Clair has been great for Musky and seems to be getting even better. Even with it being great you cant complain with 6 fish boated any time.
